Veloxa Chewable Worming Tablets for Dogs
Veloxa Chewable Worming Tablets for Dogs are a broad-spectrum anthelmintic for treatment of mixed infections by the following roundworms and tapeworms in dogs and puppies:
- Ascarids - Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina (adult and late immature forms)
- Hookworms - Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum (adults)
- Whipworms - Trichuris vulpis(adults)
- Tapeworms - Echinococcus spp and Dipylidium caninum (adult and immature forms)

Veloxa is recommended for use in dogs less than 17.5 kg body weight.
Veloxa XL is recommended for use in dogs over 17.5 kg body weight.
Dosage for Veloxa:
- 2.5-5kg: 1/2 tablet
- 5-10kg: 1 tablet
- 10-15kg: 1 1/2 tablets
- 15-20kg: 2 tablets
- 20-25kg: 2 1/2 tablets
- 25-30kg: 3 tablets
Dosage for Veloxa XL:
- 1.5kg: 1/2 tablet
- 17.5-35kg: 1 tablet
- 35-52.5kg: 1 1/2 tablets
- 52.5-70kg: 2 tablets
To ensure administration of correct product and correct dose, body weight should be determined as accurately as possible. The tablets can be given directly to you dog or disguised in food.
Most dogs will voluntarily take this tablet as a treat due to a lip-coating of praziquantel and added flavour.

It is recommended that the product is not used in dogs during the first 4 weeks of pregnancy. Do not exceed the stated does when treating pregnant bitches. The chewable tablets may be used during lactation.
Deworming frequency:
Veterinary experts recommend deworming dogs at least every 3 months. However, more frequent treatment may be recommended depending on the dog's age and lifestyle:
- For dogs living with children, pregnant women and older people - deworm monthly
- For weaned puppies up to six months of age - deworm monthly
- For a dog that has had a flea infestation - treat for tapeworms
