Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine Diabetic Dry (DS 37) is a complete dietetic feed for dogs formulated to regulate glucose supply (Diabetes Mellitus). This feed contains a low level of rapid glucose releasing carbohydrates.
Diabetes is a relatively common condition among canines and occurs when the pancreas fails to produce any or enough insulin or the body stops reacting to the insulin that is produced. One of the factors which can increase the risk of diabetes is being overweight or obese.
ROYAL CANIN® Diabetic dry dog food is exclusively formulated with the nutritional needs of diabetic adult dogs like yours in mind. This diet is suitable for dogs in cases of:
- Diabetes Mellitus and a Body Condition Score of 6 out of 9 or below
- Diabetes Mellitus and a Body Condition score of 7 out of 9 of higher, until glycaemic control has been achieved

- Glucomodulation: This formula is specially tailored to have a low glycaemic index and reduced levels of starch. Diets with a lower glycaemic index will result in a slower rise in blood glucose after eating. Glucomodulation is a key part of the nutritional support of dogs with diabetes.

As part of the ROYAL CANIN® Veterinary Health Nutrition range, it is important that this dog food for diabetic dogs is only given to your pet when recommended by a veterinary professional. To cater to each dog's individual preferences, ROYAL CANIN® Diabetic dry dog food can be complemented with Royal Canin Diabetic Special Low Carbohydrate Loaf. Transitioning your pet from one diet to another should be a smooth and gradual process over a 7–10-day period. Please ensure you follow the correct rationing amount, especially when mixed feeding.
