Optimmune 2 mg/g Eye Ointment for Dogs (3.5g)

For the treatment of chronic, recurrent conjunctivitis resulting from autoimmune disease of the eye. Indicated for the therapeutic treatment of Keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS, 'dry eye') and chronic superficial keratitis ('pannus') in the dog.

Optimmune may be used to augment topical corticosteroids or as a substitute for corticosteroids when these are contraindicated by corneal ulceration.

Contraindications:

Do not use where fungal or viral infection of the eye is suspected.

Some practical tips for getting the most from Optimmune:

  • In a 10g tube, there is 3.5g of Optimmune and the tube is more than half full of air. This is due to the manufacture, you have not been under sold, and this is completely normal.
  • During manufacture the tube is filled on its side so that most of the product ends up at the flat end. Again, this is completely normal.

Do not use in pregnant bitches or in dogs where a fungal or viral eye infection is suspected.

Check product data for full contra-indications and warnings.

Optimmune Eye Ointment contains the active ingredient Ciclosporin (2 mg/g)

Read all product instructions carefully and use as directed by your vet.

Usually, a small amount of Optimmune is applied into the affected eye or eyes, twice daily. Most dogs with dry eye will need life-long treatment.

Read product data for full contraindications and warnings.
