Metacam 15mg/ml Oral Suspension for Horses

Metacam Oral Suspension for Horses is a Prescription Only Medication used to reduce pain associated with colic (abdominal pain) and to lessen inflammation and relieve pain in acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders (disorders affecting the muscles and bones).

Do not use metacam in horses younger than 6 weeks old.

Do not use in pregnant or lactating mares, or horses with gastrointestinal, liver, kidney or cardiac disorders.

If any adverse reactions occur, stop treatment and contact your vet for advice.

Metacam should be avoided in animals that are dehydrated, have reduced blood volume or low blood pressure

If your horse is not signed out of the food chain, please ensure that you comply with the withdrawal period stated in the medicine's Summary of Product Characteristics, which can be found on the VMD's website.

Treatment is usually given once daily by oral administration, either by mixing with food or giving directly into the mouth using the measuring syringe provided.
