Incurin Tablets for Dogs 1mg

Incurin is a Prescription Only Medication (POM-V) used in the treatment of hormone dependent urinary incontinence due to urethral sphincter mechanism incompetence in spayed (ovariohysterectomised) bitches.

Sphincter mechanism incompetence is a failure of the urethral sphincter to tightly close, which allows urine to leak and causes urinary incontinence.

Treatment of hormone dependent urinary incontinence with Incurin increases the oestrogen levels, which supports the normal mechanisms that strengthen urethral sphincter tone, ensuring a tight seal that prevents urinary incontinence.

  • Incurin contains the active ingredient estriol (1mg per tablet). Estriol is a natural oestrogen (short-acting).
  • Incurin doseage is determined on an individual basis for each dog, under veterinary supervision, with a recommended starting dose of 1 tablet daily.

You should use this product as directed by your veterinary surgeon.

Contraindications:

  • Do not use in intact bitches as the efficacy of Incurin has only been shown in spayed bitches
  • Do not use in pregnant or lactating bitches, or animals less than one year old
  • Do not use in animals with symptoms of polyuria-polydipsia

Do not use in animals with excessive drinking and excessive urination.

Oestrogenic effects have been observed at highest doses of Incurin.
