Dorwest Valerian Calming Compound for Dogs and Cats

Valerian helps to support the natural relaxant pathways within the nervous system, without affecting muscles.

It doesn't make pets sleepy, so it is widely used for agility and show dogs when they need to be alert and focussed, but calm.

Being quickly absorbed into the system, Valerian Calming Compound is ideal to give on those occasions when 'over the top' or fearful behaviour may be a problem.

Indicated for:

  • Fireworks
  • Thunderstorms
  • Travelling
  • Showing
  • Going into kennels
  • Visiting the vets

Cats find the smell of Valerian Compound particularly attractive and if a few drops are placed on the cats bedding, a reduction in anxiety is quickly apparent and even unmanageable cats become calmer and easier to handle.

The concentrated herbal extracts used in this liquid ensure that within just 30 minutes a noticeable change in behaviour occurs without causing drowsiness and the effects are quite short lived.

It can be dropped directly into the pet's mouth, or on to food.

Dorwest Valerian Compound Liquid Supplement may be given in conjunction with Dorwest Scullcap and Valerian Tablets for especially scary situations.

It is not recommended for use if your pet is pregnant or lactating and is only recommended for short term use.

Can be used in pets from 8 weeks of age and can be used in conjunction with other medications.

Dosage:

  • Small dogs and cats - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Medium dogs - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Large dogs - 1 teaspoon
  • Giant breed - 1.5 teaspoon

Give when required, however, it is not recommended that two lots of the above amounts are to be given in one 24 hour period.

Caution should be taken when administering this product to exotic cats with low body fat, as very occasionally hyperactivity has been induced by the use of this product in these breeds.
