Dorwest Scullcap and Valerian Tablets for Dogs and Cats

Dorwest Scullcap and Valerian Tablets are the ultimate herbal combination in a sugar-coated tablet, invaluable to calm and relax dogs and cats suffering from excitability, apprehension, phobias or hyperactivity.

Widely used and particularly effective for those suffering from noise phobias as a result of fireworks, thunderstorms or gunfire.

Scullcap and Valerian does not cause drowsiness or impair normal behaviour or performance, making it suitable for those who just need to be settled for showing, travelling, training or obedience work.

In cats, it is also effective in the control of territorial spraying by keeping the cat relaxed and so reducing the urge to mark territory. This is more often a problem in neutered males but is a behaviour that can also be found in dominant females.

Indicated for:

  • Noise phobias (fireworks/thunderstorms)
  • New home/rescue
  • Separation anxiety
  • Travelling
  • Habitual anxiety
  • Canine cognitive dysfunction and associated confusion/disorientation
  • Training/performance support
  • False pregnancy - dog can become anxious and unsettled
  • Hyperactive dogs
  • Territorial urine spraying in cats
  • Skin sensitivity in nervous dogs
  • Conditions that are exacerbated by a heightened state of anxiety or nervous excitability

Ingredients:

Valerian - helps to support the natural relaxant pathways within the nervous system, without affecting muscles

Scullcap - contains a number of valuable compounds including those which bind to the GABA receptor and reduce anxiety

Mistletoe - helps to support the natural calming pathways within the nervous system and helps circulation

Gentian - supports the other natural active compounds and helps maintain normal liver function

Scullcap and Valerian tablets can be used both long term and short term in cats and dogs depending on what treatment the condition requires.

Scullcap and Valerian can be used on pets from 8 weeks of age and can be used in conjunction with other medications.

Under veterinary supervision, Scullcap & Valerian tablets are used in the control of epilepsy, often in conjunction with orthodox anti-convulsant drugs.

Dosage:

  • 1-2 tablets per 5kgs of bodyweight daily, ideally given as two doses depending on the severity of the condition
  • For use on a singular occasion, give 12 hours and then 2 hours before the event using the higher dosage rate
  • Given before a journey this tablet will calm nervous travellers but is also ideal if new surroundings and situations cause apprehension or anxiety, making it a useful training aid for young dogs being introduced to the show ring as well as thunderstorms, fireworks, visits to the vet etc

Not recommended for use if your pet is pregnant or lactating
