Joint measurement for Import and Export of horses
David Langrish is an approved measurer with the Joint Measurement Scheme and carries out annual and life measurements on our specially constructed pad at Shedfield.
This service is available both to our own clients and other owners requiring their ponies or horses to be measured.
There is a standard fee of £70 which is paid to the JMB Ltd please contact our equine reception staff during office hours to arrange an appointment.
There is a link below to the joint measurement board site but, especially if you are having a horse or pony measured for the first time, we would like to bring the following points to your attention.:
- All measurements must take place on an approved Joint Measurement Pad – ours is at The Animed Veterinary Hospital & Equine Unit at Shedfield
- Please ensure that the horse’s shoes are removed before presentation and that you have the following documentation with you
- OFFICIAL PASSPORT WITH APPROVED DEFRA PASSPORT/LIFE NUMBER. The JMB will not accept any applications without this documentation. If you are unsure whether the passport that you have is appropriate please call the JMB on 01293 862701 to check first
- ANY PREVIOUS JMB CERTIFICATE
- A CHEQUE MADE OUT TO JMB LTD FOR £70 FOR EACH HORSE
- Please note that no measurer is permitted to measure a horse for two consecutive years
Export certification
Our equine veterinary surgeons are qualified LVIs and we are able to carry out examinations for import and export of horses.
